"Oblivion"
I did this quick painting today. Just felt like doing something a little different from my usual, so I just scanned the pretty rough pencil sketch of the concept and went ahead with the digital color.
There were only 4 layers on this one including the scanned image. The inspiration for this came from Dia de los Muertos, of course, but more profoundly, from Astor Piazzolla's "Oblivion", a beautiful, haunting piece of music that I love. I enjoy listening to different versions of it by different groups and artists, but I enjoy playing it on the piano with Jr. playing her cello the most. Nothing beats live acoustic music.
